Welcome to the Witch
We hope all our customers are keeping safe and well. With the news that pubs are to reopen in April, please note the following:
We will not be taking any bookings for our reopening until the beginning of April, please do not send any booking requests or telephone the pub as the phone is not manned. Thank you.
Please follow our facebook page for updates on when we will be taking bookings.
The Witch Inn is run by Sean Turner who has not only owned the business for the last seven years, but is also head chef. Sean is Sussex born and bred and learnt his trade whilst living at The White Horse in Ditchling, where he grew up. After two years working as a chef at Bill and Bull in Uppsala, a city north of Stockholm in Sweden, he returned to his beloved Sussex to run The Witch, working alongside French chef Frederic Bodeau. The weekly changing menu is a fusion of English, French and Swedish dishes, using locally sourced products.
The Witch Inn dates back to the mid 18th Century and was originally an 'Inn' housing travellers and highwaymen on the main coach route between London and Brighton.
Child friendly - high chairs available
Dog friendly in the bar area and garden. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
The safety of staff and customers is of the greatest importance to us and we ask that you adhere to the following measures we have in place:
It is now mandatory to wear a mask at all times when in the pub, unless you are seated at your table. Please remember that when visiting the toilet or leaving the building you are still required to wear a mask.
Hand sanitizer stations are available at both entrances and by the toilet - please do use them.
Please check in using the NHS Covid-19 app.
We are allowed to take bookings of up to six customers per table, at this present time we are unable to take any larger bookings. Tables can be booked both inside and in the marquee. For bookings inside the pub you must be from one household only. Booking more than one table to make a larger party is not allowed at present but we will let you know if and when this changes.
Payment must be by card, we are not accepting cash payments at present.
We understand you may not be able to make a booking you have made but we do please ask that you let us know.
Children are very welcome but must be seated at your table at all times.
Please enter by the front door if you have booked a table indoors, and by the side gate around the corner to the left of the pub if you have booked a marquee table.
